This semi-sweet Blanc du Bois wine is delightfully pleasing for an afternoon treat. You’ll note berries and fruit aromas enticing your taste buds. Given it’s age, this wine was still quite flavorful and delicious. We noted hints of banana and floral flavors as the dominant tasting notes. Surprisingly, this old white wine maintained its flavor even after being opened for an hour. It’s always cool to gaze at the deep colors of aged whites and marvel in its physical beauty. Served chilled with a light meal, snack or on its own. It’s good either way. Enjoy!

The Expressionist is 80% Mason County Merlot from Robert Clay Vineyards and 20% Tempranillo. This wine was fermented then aged in a 250 gallon egg shaped flex tank. We are wanting to make concrete aging vessels in an egg shape, but we wanted to see first hand the effects of the shape on the wine. Compared to the same Merlot aged in barrels or stainless tanks, this wine came out with a creamer mouth feel and softer tannins because of the egg shape allowing a natural rising and falling of the gasses causing the lees to be stirred naturally.
Nose: floral basket, bright cerrries and spices
Flavors: strawberries, cherries, candied pecans with medium to light tannins.
Medium to heavy bodied, crisp with good acidity. Dry and complex. Aromas and flavors of fresh apple and tropical fruits with a pleasant, soft finish.
A nice light blend of Touriga (60%), Syrah (25%) and Viognier (15%). Well-balanced with plum and berries on the nose, hints of berry and cherry with a short finish.
Pour Choices is a delicious treat. Aromas of blueberry and the great tastes of blueberry and sweet pomegranate. The blend of Petit Verdot and fruit juices makes a wonderful desert wine.

While Aura certainly gives a clear expression of elegant yet complex boquet, balanced with the tropical fruit on the palate, Aura is a distinct approach to vinifying Blanc du Bois.
